On behalf of the La Trobe University Children’s Community Centre, I’d like to sincerely thank AGECS for the Celebrate Diversity grant. The funding enabled us to purchase a range of inclusive resources that support both fine and gross motor development, while also promoting social interaction and cooperative play.

Importantly, these resources have strengthened our ability to support children with diverse developmental profiles, including children with additional needs, by providing flexible, accessible play opportunities that can be adapted to different strengths, interests, and sensory preferences. Educators have been able to use the equipment across a range of outdoor environments, incorporating them with existing equipment as shown in the pictures to encourage group play.

We hope to continue building on these play spaces over time as part of our ongoing commitment to inclusive, strengths-based practice.
