DVRCV: Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria

Two-day workshop

Date:              Monday 29 & Tuesday 30 August

Time:              9.30 to 4.30

Location:      CBD venue

Cost:              $260 SHS funded; $630 non SHS funded

Presented by Wendy Bunston and Tara Pavlidis

This two day workshop explains how ‘child led’ interventions can create change in families which are stuck. This approach is used to enhance the delivery of group work, family work and individual work where family violence is or has been experienced. The material to be presented is based on the past and current clinical practice of the two presenters who have worked therapeutically with children impacted by family violence for the past two decades. The theory underpinning ‘child led’ work will be explored, models of practice demonstrated and ‘hands on’ strategies and resources provided. This workshop will provide an exciting learning opportunity for those new to working with children as much as it offers new ways of thinking to those already experienced in this specialised area of practice. Specific pre-reading will be sent out to participants prior to attending for those wishing to familiarise themselves with this approach before consolidating this learning within the workshop itself.
